# Discriminantly > Discriminantly turns the places and things you notice—and the new possibilities your AI discovers—into plans you can share, copy and build together. Discriminantly is a durable personal record of your interests, travels and plans. Discriminantly is an independent AI startup and an AI-connected personal record for interests, places, travels and plans. The record is held by Discriminantly. AI platforms are authorized clients of it rather than owners of its semantics. Save objects and interests as notes, mark places in the real world, and build travel plans with others. Find, organize and refine it all in Discriminantly—or connect it to the AI you already use to save things in conversation, ask for recommendations and make plans from a direct request. What you have saved and experienced gives those recommendations sharper, more personal direction over time. Discriminantly is a complete application, and the durable home of your record. ChatGPT, Claude, Muse and other compatible assistants are authorized ways of working with it—not owners of the record or its meaning. ## What it records - **Notes**: Notes remember objects and interests: a thing, a maker, an idea. A note records that you thought it worth remembering, with a line on why. A note does not mean you own it, like it, bought it or endorse it. Owning and endorsing are their own records. - **Travel Marks**: Travel Marks remember or consider places: a restaurant, a shop, a view, a hotel. A mark carries the place’s name and, where a lookup finds it, its address and position on a map. A mark does not mean you have been, or that you recommend it. Going is a check-in; recommending is a warrant. - **Check-ins**: Check-ins record actual visits: a date, or a stay, and anything you want to say about it. A check-in belongs to a travel mark. Only you say when you went. Nothing is inferred from a plan, a note or a mention. - **Collections**: Collections organize records: notes and marks brought together under a name of your choosing, such as a city, a theme, a trip or a kind of thing. A collection organizes. It adds no claim about any record in it. - **Itineraries**: Itineraries preserve plans: places and ideas arranged into days and stops. A plan can start from a direct request, from places you have already saved, or both, and it can be shared or built with others. An itinerary is an intention. It is not a record of having gone. - **Warrants**: Warrants are explicit endorsements: a deliberate seal on a note or mark saying you stand behind it. On a public record a warrant is announced; on a private one it stays with you. A warrant is never inferred from praise, ownership or repeat visits. You give it on purpose. ## How it works 1. **Notice.** Save something you noticed. See a tool, book, maker, idea, or product you want to remember? Save it as a note and add a quick line about why it caught your eye. It’s yours to keep—not a claim that you own it, bought it, or recommend it. 2. **Locate.** Save a place you want to remember. See a restaurant, shop, hotel, or view you might want to visit? Save it as a place. Discriminantly can add its address and map location when it finds one. You can save a place long before you go—or even if you never go. 3. **Experience.** Remember where you’ve been. When you actually visit a place, add a check-in. Add the date, a few days if it was a longer stay, and anything you want to remember about it. A saved place or a plan doesn’t mean you went; a check-in means you did. 4. **Organize.** Keep related things together. Group notes and places into collections—a city, a theme, a future trip, or anything else that makes sense to you. A restaurant can be in “Kyoto,” “Ramen,” and “Next Japan trip” at the same time. 5. **Compose.** Turn your saves into a trip. Start a trip from scratch, from places you’ve already saved, or both. Tell Discriminantly where you’re going, what you like, and how long you’ll be there. If you’ve connected an AI assistant, it can suggest places and arrange them into days and stops. Your own saved places help shape the plan. Adding a place to a trip means you’re considering it—not that you’ve been or recommend it. 6. **Plan together.** Plan with other people. Share a trip by link so someone can view it and make their own copy. Or invite them to plan it with you as an editor or viewer. Your private notes, check-ins, and other saved records stay yours. If you add a private place to a shared trip, Discriminantly asks before making its name and address visible to collaborators. 7. **Work with AI.** Use the AI you already use. Connect the AI assistant you already use. It can recommend places, build plans, and—when you allow it—use your saved places and notes to make suggestions more relevant. You stay in control: connect or disconnect an assistant whenever you want, and every change it makes is clearly attributed to that assistant. ## Using it with an AI client No existing record is required: through a connected AI client a member can ask for recommendations or a plan from a destination, interests and constraints, and existing records sharpen the result over time. Recommendations remain recommendations until the member keeps them. Your record stays in Discriminantly. An AI client reaches it only after the member authorizes a connection, which the member can revoke in Settings. Every change an AI makes is recorded as that client acting for the member. Four facts are stated separately per client: availability, connection method, authentication, directory status. - **ChatGPT** (https://www.discriminantly.com/ai/chatgpt): Live. Discriminantly plugin. None. ## Boundaries - Saving something does not purchase or book it. - A recommendation is not evidence that you own or visited something. - An itinerary is a plan, not a completed trip. - Discriminantly does not know you by assumption. It knows what you have truthfully recorded. - AI-client behaviour and availability vary by platform. ## Evidence and control - Kept, visited, owned and endorsed are separate acts; none implies another. - Looked-up facts (a place’s address and map position) are recorded as looked up, apart from member-authored evidence. - Recommendations stay recommendations until the member keeps them. - Itineraries are plans, not evidence of completed travel. - A private Travel Mark remains private. If it is added as a Stop in a shared itinerary, its place name and address may become visible to collaborators after the member confirms. The originating mark, private commentary and unrelated records remain private. - Privacy is per record; AI access is granted by the member and revocable; the application is where records are reviewed, adjusted and removed; provenance identifies who, or which assistant, changed what. ## Frequently asked - **Do I need saved places before Discriminantly can recommend or plan?** No. With a connected assistant, you can ask for recommendations or build an itinerary from a destination, interests, and constraints—even if your account is empty. Saved places, notes, check-ins, and recommendations can make later results more specific and personal. - **Does Discriminantly only recommend places I’ve already saved?** No. A plan can use places you’ve saved, introduce new recommendations, or combine both. A recommendation stays separate from something you’ve deliberately saved. ## Questions these pages answer - Do I need saved places before Discriminantly can recommend or plan? https://www.discriminantly.com/ai#faq - How can an AI remember my tastes across conversations? https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/connect-an-ai-assistant - How can I plan trips from places I have already saved? https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/plan-from-what-you-keep - How can I save objects and places in one personal record? https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/keep-objects-and-interests - How can friends collaboratively build an itinerary without sharing all their private data? https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/share-or-build-an-itinerary-together - How can I connect a personal taste or travel corpus to ChatGPT, Claude or Muse? https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/connect-an-ai-assistant ## Record types - Notes: https://www.discriminantly.com/notes - Travel Marks: https://www.discriminantly.com/travel-marks - Check-ins: https://www.discriminantly.com/check-ins - Collections: https://www.discriminantly.com/collections - Itineraries: https://www.discriminantly.com/itineraries - Warrants: https://www.discriminantly.com/warrants ## Guides - Save and organize objects and interests: https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/keep-objects-and-interests - Remember places without claiming a visit: https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/remember-places - Plan a trip from what you’ve saved: https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/plan-from-what-you-keep - Share or collaboratively build an itinerary: https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/share-or-build-an-itinerary-together - Connect Discriminantly to an AI assistant, and what it can access: https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/connect-an-ai-assistant ## Pages - https://www.discriminantly.com/ - https://www.discriminantly.com/how-it-works - https://www.discriminantly.com/notes - https://www.discriminantly.com/travel-marks - https://www.discriminantly.com/check-ins - https://www.discriminantly.com/collections - https://www.discriminantly.com/itineraries - https://www.discriminantly.com/warrants - https://www.discriminantly.com/ai - https://www.discriminantly.com/ai/chatgpt - https://www.discriminantly.com/ai/claude - https://www.discriminantly.com/ai/muse - https://www.discriminantly.com/ai/other - https://www.discriminantly.com/guides - https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/keep-objects-and-interests - https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/remember-places - https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/plan-from-what-you-keep - https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/share-or-build-an-itinerary-together - https://www.discriminantly.com/guides/connect-an-ai-assistant - https://www.discriminantly.com/about - https://www.discriminantly.com/agent-guidance - https://www.discriminantly.com/privacy - https://www.discriminantly.com/terms - https://www.discriminantly.com/support ## For agents - Guidance for AI agents: https://www.discriminantly.com/agent-guidance (also https://www.discriminantly.com/agent-guidance.md). - The MCP server for authorized clients is https://www.discriminantly.com/mcp (sign-in) and https://muse.discriminantly.com/mcp (API key).
