Founded in 1676, Lock & Co. is the world’s oldest hat shop, still trading behind its green door at 6 St James’s Street. Men’s hats and women’s millinery are fitted and hand-prepared with the accumulated knowledge of a house that treats a hat as both practical object and expression of character.

Britain’s oldest wine and spirits merchant, founded in 1698 and still family-run from No. 3 St James’s Street beneath the Sign of the Coffee Mill. The worn shop, historic weighing scales, cellars and passage into Pickering Place give the experience unusual continuity, backed by serious expertise in fine wine and spirits.
