#bookshop

An independent bookshop, café and cultural space beside Broadway Cinematheque in Yau Ma Tei. Its mix of books, film culture, publishing, exhibitions, talks and small events makes it more than a retail stop — a useful window into Hong Kong’s independent literary and cinephile scene.

Independent English-language bookshop in Södermalm with a tightly packed, thoughtfully curated selection of fiction and other books. I visited on June 15, 2026 while in Stockholm and wanted to remember it as one of the neighbourhood bookshops worth returning to.

Founded in 1797, Hatchards is Britain’s oldest bookshop and one of Piccadilly’s great surviving institutions. Five intimate floors combine deeply knowledgeable bookselling with signed and special editions—a place that rewards unhurried browsing rather than merely finding a title. Tucked away on the top floor, in its own gallery section, is the collection of first editions. Do not miss it.
