A Stockholm bakery rooted in Svedjan’s family dairy farm in Västerbotten, known for carefully made sourdough breads, buns and pastries using ingredients connected to the farm. Worth returning to for an especially Swedish fika and an expression of regional craft brought into the city.

Öjbro Vantfabrik’s Gamla Stan shop, devoted to Swedish and Nordic knitting traditions, folklore-inspired patterns and wool goods. I visited on June 16, 2026 and picked up a few pairs of traditional Swedish patterned socks — exactly the sort of locally rooted craft I like bringing home from a trip.

Independent English-language bookshop in Södermalm with a tightly packed, thoughtfully curated selection of fiction and other books. I visited on June 15, 2026 while in Stockholm and wanted to remember it as one of the neighbourhood bookshops worth returning to.

Nordic small plates with strong wine and cocktail pairings, built around Swedish and European home cooking interpreted through precise craft. Hantverket means “the craft,” and the restaurant leans into that idea through from-scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients and a warm, intimate room near Stureplan and Humlegården — elegant without being precious. Standouts include raw beef preparations, seafood, house-made bread and butter, and seasonal desserts.
