An eighteenth-century country inn in the quiet Hampshire village of Mapledurwell, run by Sandra and Philip Costello since 2003. The owner is friendly and unassuming, but incredibly knowledgeable and well travelled. The menu changes weekly, transforming fresh ingredients into excellent examples of British fare, accompanied by local real ales and a serious wine list. They do like their ale warm—if you’re into that.
